Jersey guidos finally get their own show
Forget Mother’s Day — nobody warned me last night that E! would be premiering a new show about guidos, America’s modern-day answer to the classic Casanova. That, my friends, is worth celebrating. I unfortunately missed the first episode of Jersey Shore Unleashed, but this pretty much sums up the future Emmy-winning series:
Are you still looking for a good book to read on the beach this summer? Well you’re in luck. The new show Jersey Shore Unleashed took their cameras and twelve crates of hair gel to the hottest club east of the Garden State Parkway to get a few recommendations from the locals. You better get to the mall and pick up your copy of Charlotte’s Web or Green Eggs and Ham before they sell out, because they are about to get a major sales fist bump.

Jersey totally ripped off MTV’s Staten Island obsession – for a while there it seemed like a new creature from SI was featured every other week on True Life.
Too little gel, too late E! (and Jersey).
I know a girl in Belmar, on the Jersey Shore, who swears that all the worst Guidos there are actually weekenders from Staten Island anyway.
Not that I really believe her. Half, maybe. But not all.
I wish those dudes in that picture weren’t all way bigger than I am. Oh, man. Is it wrong that just looking at that photo really makes me want to punch them all in the face?

These likeminded men descend on the Shore in the evening from points south and north to play the roles that will put them in favor of the women who allow themselves to be wooed by their affected sexiness.
I think your stories from “The Bay” will be much more entertaining.
Joseph – you are absolutely right about MTV’s love with Staten Island! To this day, that True Life is still my absolute favorite.
But I did get to watch Jersey Shore Unleashed and have to give the show some credit for featuring way-too-tanned guys actually saying “I love to fist pump!”
The one in the wife beater didn’t get his spray tan all the way up to his hair line. Jus’ sayin’.
