What’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour Minus Tiger Woods?

The answer to my titular question is apparently, “nothing that EA wants to sell” which is why amidst sponsors dropping Tiger for banging a calendar’s worth of hookers and waitresses, the company is keeping him as the face of their golf game. EA Sports president Peter Moore explains the decision:
“By his own admission, he’s made some mistakes off the course. But regardless of what’s happening in his personal life, and regardless of his decision to take a personal leave from the sport, Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history.”
Yes, that is true, and though it’s pretty morally and logically reprehensible to cheat on your supermodel wife with twelve other less-hot women, it really has nothing to do with why we love the man, his golf game, and it’s smart that EA sees this before they go ahead and ruin one of their most beloved sports franchises.
These other companies dropping Tiger Woods are being rather stupid, as A) no one is going to ACTUALLY boycott a company that sponsors an morally questionable athlete (other than say, OJ Simpson), and B) no one is going to START buying a product because “wow, what a moral corporation for making a stand like that, I now would like a Tag Heuer watch.”
So for now, Tiger Woods will be gracing the cover of PGA Tour ’11, which will be a big deal to people who aren’t me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go kill some Russians on Estate with my SCAR with holographic sight and extended mags.
