MMA Fighter Flips Out on EA Programmers Over Low Stats

EA Sports has been reluctant to make an MMA game for years, at one point pissing off the entire community by degrading the sport itself as not worthy of being in the EA lineup. But as the popularity of MMA has exploded over the past few years, they’ve changed their tune and are now developing a franchise for the sport.

This is video of a meeting between MMA fighters and the EA programming team, and during the video, one fighter, Jason “Mayhem” Miller is shown his virtual fighter. The only problem? His stats aren’t where he’d like them to be.

He starts flipping out and screaming and yelling at the programmers, and it makes for quite the viral video.

Buuuut it’s a joke. It’s all prank on EA MMA Head Developer Rob Hydar, and it appears everyone else in the room was in on it, as they all immediately start cracking up afterwards. But even if it is fake, it’s pretty funny and most definitely worth watching. It’s inspiring to see athletes and nerds come together for this kind of hilarious collaboration.

    About Me

After rising to blogging fame as the University of Michigan's answer to Gossip Girl, I took the EIC job at a student blog network spreading my wealth of college experience across the nation. My passion project is a movie/tv/gaming site called Unreality and I'm a movie news editor at JoBlo.com. I'm new to this business, and I think I'm a part of the first generation of journalists to skip print media entirely. When I started out, I had zero idea blogging could be a career, but I've learned more in the last ten months than I did in four years of college. What exactly did I major in again?
