It’s Gay Pride Week in ‘World of Warcraft’

You wouldn’t think that in World of Warcraft, where the most prevalent insult across the land by far is “fag,” you would see this kind of celebration of tolerance. But as it turns out, WoW is such a massive community (11 million and counting) it’s evolved into a relatively civilized society where things like virtual gay pride parades are possible.

This is actually the fifth annual “Proudmoore Parade” and the week includes other such fun activities as float designing, avatar modeling and nude dueling. Yup, nude dueling. The video above is of the parade itself (thankfully not of nude dueling), and I have to admit I’m pretty proud of the WoW community not doing anything trollish to disrupt it. I mean, these are the people who raided a funeral for a player who had died in real life.
