Stockholm hopes to cash in on royal wedding of Crown Princess Victoria to Daniel Westling

You can’t blame a city for wanting to cash in on a royal wedding. On Saturday, the Stockholm Cathedral was the site of the marriage between Crown Princess Victoria and commoner Daniel Westling.

Stockholm is a beautiful city; I visited six years ago this month, and would definitely make a return visit. Now the City of Stockholm is hoping that a lot more of us will visit. So much so, they put together a LOVE Stockholm 2010 festival from Sept. 6-19, culminating with the royal wedding. Billed simply as “a two-week love celebration,” the city and other areas of Sweden brought out their best in music, dance, culture, food and design.

Stockholm is  romantic. One of my favorite day trips was a boat trip to the island of Sandhamn.
