Coffee Party movement steaming in Seattle

No surprise that the Coffee Party movement in Seattle is pickin’ up steam — after all, this is the home of Starbucks.

With nearly 1,000 members on its Facebook page, the Seattle based group is picking up steam. In fact, they’ve surpassed the membership of the Washington, DC Facebook group, and that’s where the official Coffee Party USA got its start.

It’s a response to the U.S. Tea Party. Here’s a video from Seattle’s KING-5 about the new political movement.

I’m not anti-Starbucks, but I do have my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. They include Zeitgeist Cafe (Pioneer Square), Fonte Wine & Coffee Bar (Four Seasons Hotel), Stella Caffe (just down the street from the Four Seasons).

They also make a might fine cappuccino at Le Pichet, which goes nicely with a morning brioche at this First Avenue bistro.
