O, The Oprah Magazine turns ten years old in 2010. To celebrate the occasion, Oprah Winfrey and her staff are holding a Live Your Best Life weekend event in New York City, May 7-9, 2010. Tickets go on sale March 15, but ten lucky readers will be awarded tickets to the event. Each may bring a guest.

To find out if you’re an instant winner, look for the Official Give-O-Way Ticket in a copy of the February 2010 issue of O (on newsstands Jan. 19). Enter the code from the ticket in the appropriate box on the O website. To enter without a ticket, send your full name, address, zip code, telephone number and date of birth hand-printed on a 3X5 piece of paper to: Live Your Best Life Weekend Give-O-Way Entry, Department B, PO Box 5701, Blair, NE 68009-5701. All entries must be received by Feb. 23, 2010.

Ten prizes, valued at $3,000 each, will be awarded. Each one includes: round-trip transportation to a New York area airport for two; two nights accommodation in a standard room hotel, double occupancy; two tickets to the Live Your Best Life event at the Javits Center; ground transportation to and from a New York area airport; a check for $500 for the winner only.

The three-day celebration includes Friday night welcome events; workshops with O columnists on Saturday; Oprah on stage at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night; and Walk for a Cause with Oprah on Sunday

    About Me

I'm a professional freelance writer and photographer who has been in the journalism 'biz since 1988. I live on a small farm on an island in Puget Sound with my husband, chickens, turkeys and our very own field of dreams. When I'm not packing and unpacking from exploring the seven continents (yup, I've done 'em all), I enjoy theater, movies, jazz, fine food, heavenly spas and long dinner parties with my family and friends. Oh, I grew up in the '60s and I sort of remember it through the haze.

Tim Hortons, a fast-growing “quick service restaurant” founded in Canada, is headed to the Big Apple. Will New Yorkers embrace Tim’s coffee and the other menu items of this restaurant founded by a Canadian hockey legend? Stay tuned. In the meantime, read about it on my Closet Canuck blog.
