Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska home to Gingerbread Village
For whatever reason, my hubby built a gingerbread house this year. While researching designs, I stumbled upon this impressive Gingerbread Village in Anchorage, Alaska. It’s located at the Hotel Captain Cook, and is entirely edible.
Pastry Chef Joe Hickel started construction on the unique town the Monday before Thanksgiving. Now in his 31st year as being the gingerbread man, his village has become one of Anchorage’s holiday attractions.
On a less sweet note, the world’s largest gingerbread village of 650 houses in Bergen, Norway was destroyed by vandals this holiday season. Bah humbug!
