Searching for pet-friendly hotels

Not being a dog or pet owner, I don’t spend a lot of time looking for places that are dog or pet-friendly. But it’s a growing part of the travel industry, and I stumbled upon a website that makes it easy to find out if you can bring Fido along.

Petswelcome.com has an easy to use lodging finder for people with animals. Search for US, Canadian and international lodgings; search by route; and even look for places that welcome larger dogs. Also included are bed & breakfasts, cottages and cabins and vacation rentals.

And here’s a report card from DogFriendly.com about the pet travel industry in 2008.

I live on a small farm on an island in Puget Sound with my husband, chickens, turkeys and our very own field of dreams.
