New York’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree to be illuminated December 2
The 2009 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be illuminated on Wednesday evening, Dec. 2. If you can’t make it to the Big Apple to see the 76-foot Norway Spruce from Connecticut lit up, NBC will be broadcasting the show at 8 PM ET/PT during its 12th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center telecast.
Co-hosted by NBC stars Jane Krakowski (30 Rock) and Zachary Levi (Chuck) and broadcast in HD, the celebration features Michael Bublé, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Barry Manilow, The Roots, Shakira and The Radio City Rockettes performing hits and holiday classics from stages around Rockefeller Center.
The 77th annual tree lighting party will also includes a performance by co-host Krakowski with The Roots and appearances by Taylor Schilling and James Tupper (NBC’s Mercy) and Brian Williams (NBC Nightly News).
The tree will be lit daily from 5:30 AM-11:30 PM; Christmas Day (24 hours); and from 5:30 AM-9 PM on New Year’s Eve. It will be on display until Jan. 10, 2010.
