The Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is lookin’ for cookies. OK, actually they’re looking for the recipe for the ultimate holiday cookie. That’s what the Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher of the hotel’s ART Restaurant is searching for.

Now through Dec. 1, 2009 guests (and potential guests!) are invited to submit a recipe for their favorite holiday cookie recipe. Along with the recipe, also write a description (150 words) that answers these questions:

What makes a holiday cookie?
Are the cookies served during the holidays?
Do the cookies use seasonal ingredients?

The winning cookie will be served during the holidays in ART Restaurant and at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, and the winner will receive dinner for two and a one-night stay at the hotel. Email your recipes to: ryan.witcher@fourseasons.com.

The three finalists will be announced on Dec. 6, 2009 at the hotel’s Holidays with HeART. The holiday lunch buffet includes decorating stations with freshly baked cookies and a reading of children’s holiday books. The winning cookies will be sampled and judged by attendees and a panel of cookie enthusiasts, and the grand prize winner announced. Cost for the luncheon is $35/$25; a portion of the proceeds goes to Treehouse Seattle.
Call 206.749.7070 for reservations.

    About Me

I'm a professional freelance writer and photographer who has been in the journalism 'biz since 1988. I live on a small farm on an island in Puget Sound with my husband, chickens, turkeys and our very own field of dreams. When I'm not packing and unpacking from exploring the seven continents (yup, I've done 'em all), I enjoy theater, movies, jazz, fine food, heavenly spas and long dinner parties with my family and friends. Oh, I grew up in the '60s and I sort of remember it through the haze.
