Nobel Peace Prize to be awarded to Barack Obama on Dec. 10, 2009 in Oslo, Norway
The Nobel Peace Prize 2009 has been awarded to Barack Obama “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” The 44th President of the United States of America will be awarded with the prestigious honor on Dec. 10, 2009 at Oslo City Hall.
The award will be given to Obama by the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of King Harald V of Norway. President Obama will deliver a lecture during the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony.
On Dec. 11, 2009 artists from around the world will gather at the Oslo Spektrum to spread the message of peace during the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Co-hosted by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, confirmed artists include Wyclef Jean, Donna Summer, Toby Keith, Luis Fonsi and Amidou & Mariam.
