True/Slant is going dark, and so is “In Justice”

My gratitude to everybody who visited this blog, to everybody who cares about wrongful convictions, to everybody involved in making the criminal justice system truly a system about justice.

Why is True/Slant going dark? I hope that you will continue to write on Injustice and wrongful convictions. I will continue to follow your writing and share thoughts with you. Best regards! JF

Lev Rukhin and Galina Popova stole my Rukhin collection valued at $2 million. Galina came to Texas to advise me which two (at most) I would auction so that I could buy a house for myself and my two daughters (now 5 and 10). She took my paintings without my consent or knowledge one morning to a storage facility and left back to Los Angeles after which Lev flew in, took the paintings from the storage and drove them with a friend named Will to L.A. I am currently working on getting him to return my paintings along with a number of other things he stole which include my older sister’s(Evgeny Rukhin’s oldest daughter) ashes.

    About Me

Investigative reporter since 1969, starting on daily newspapers, moving to magazines, then to writing books. In 1978, I decided to reject the world of regular paychecks and freelance for newspapers and magazines while continuing to write nonfiction books. Since 1976, I have been active in an international group called Investigative Reporters and Editors (www.ire.org). From 1983-1990, I ran IRE day to day, and still help edit its magazine. Partly from passion and partly for mercenary reasons, I have been teaching students part-time at the University of Missouri Journalism School since 1978. As you would deduce from my trueslant.com blog, my research, writing and teaching have increasingly focused on exposing flaws in the criminal justice system, especially when those flaws lead to the imprisonment of innocent men and women.
