Scientists Reaffirm Huge Asteroid Killed Dinosaurs
After decades of debate, scientists have now declared that a mountain-sized asteroid officially led dinosaurs to extinction. A panel of 41 researchers from 12 different nations came together and announced their overwhelmingly strong evidence for the theory. Most believe the monstrous asteroid that smashed into Earth 65 million years ago left what is known as the Chicxulub crated on the coast of Mexico.
Although there is little dispute that a colossal space rock hit the Earth roughly 65 million years ago, some scientists remain unconvinced that this collision led to the extinction of dinosaurs. However this new research presented by the panel explains an increasingly detailed description of why dinosaurs would be extinct in the hellish conditions after the asteroid hit the Earth.
Every year, millions of asteroids and comets or ‘’stray bullets’’ streak through the skies, and tons of small meteorites strike our planet. Scientists believe that even the impact of an asteroid a mile wide would be globally catastrophic. Watch National Geographic’s documentary “Asteroids: Deadly Impact” to learn more.

Hello Ms. Cook,
I suppose I ought to wait until the actual journal article comes out in Science this Friday but I would be so much more impressed with this theory if someone could explain how an asteroid could kill the dinosaurs, ptersosaurs, ichthyosaurs, mosasaurs, and plesiosaurs but leave the mammals, snakes, frogs, turtles, birds, and fish in tact. The Crocodilia were just as successful before the impact as after. Given the similarity of the Crocodilia to Dinosauria, it is hard to see how could be wiped out by an asteroid and the other not.
Blasphemy! We all know Jesus killed the dinosaurs. Moses helped.
