A Holiday Gift From SnagFilms, Ted Leonsis, and Rick Allen
It’s been a rough year for the economy, which is one reason why we’re happy to offer you a SnagFilms Holiday Gift Widget from which you can enjoy – for free – this year’s ten most-watched films from across the SnagFilms network. If you’d like, you can also forward the widget below to anyone on your list for whom you just haven’t had time to buy a gift (we know how it is…) – or create a new one with five films on topics of their passions from our vast library. After all, when it comes to re-gifting, it’s the thought that counts, and letting friends and loved ones watch popular non-fiction films for free should spread some holiday cheer.
While it has been a rough year for the U.S. economy, it’s been a pretty great year for SnagFilms (http://www.snagfilms.com/).
· We now have more 1000 films under contract, which anyone with a computer and a broadband connection can find, watch, snag, and in so doing, support important causes.
· Our network of distribution partners expanded this year, and Hulu, IMDb, and FanCast joined AOL and more than 55,000 websites and webpages as major drivers of traffic to watch these great documentary films.
· Our films have appeared on more 1.5 billion web pageviews since our launch last year.
· There have now been more than 33 premieres of films on SnagFilms, either in partnership with a festival, or exclusively.
· Making great films available to online audiences has expanded the concept of filmanthropy – shining a spotlight on an injustice or topic that needs to be further explored, as well as helping to connect people to causes they can support. And in two instances, The Least of These and Return To Tarawa, broad distribution from SnagFilms helped catalyze government action – identifying and repatriating the remains of WWII fallen heroes, and closing a notorious family detention center.
· At indieWIRE (http://www.indiewire.com/), we launched a redesigned site, and were pleased to have Anne Thompson join the SnagFilms family as an anchor for our expanding indieWIRE Blog Network.
Now, as Christmas approaches, Santa also has something else to deliver fans of indieWIRE: legendary film critic Leonard Maltin has joined the family:

Additionally, fans of the online phenomenon Reel Geezers will now be able to able find all of Marcia Nasitir and Lorenzo Semple’s insightful reviews and commentary on our sites:

Have a Happy Holiday. Grab some popcorn. Take the rest of the day off from work, and watch one or more of the Top 10 Films on the SnagFilms from the SnagFilms network:
Sincerely,
Ted Leonsis and Rick Allen
