4 in 5 Americans skeptical of financial reform bill
I’ve been pretty hard on him over the last few weeks, but according to Bloomberg Businessweek an overwhelming majority of Americans agree with Russ Feingold when it comes to financial reform,
Almost four out of five Americans surveyed in a Bloomberg National Poll this month say they have just a little or no confidence that the measure being championed by congressional Democrats will prevent or significantly soften a future crisis. More than three-quarters say they don’t have much or any confidence the proposal will make their savings and financial assets more secure.
Needless to say, this is very bad news for President Obama and Democrats. With health care reform still largely unpopular, it is becoming less and less clear what the key legislative achievement that underpins the narrative upon which Democrats run in November will be.
