FCC Complaints Against Adam Lambert More Lewd Than His Performance

Where do I send my complaints about the FCC complaints against Adam Lambert?

Several of the 5,000-plus complaints lodged with the Federal Communications Commission hit the Web via The Smoking Gun, and they’re a pretty hilarious read. If you can, that is, get past their mind-numbing homophobia.  There are two things that strike me as funny about the most offensive of the complaints: 1) Seeing phrases like “cluster fuck of awfulness” legitimized and categorized on official FCC complaint form documents is surreal, as is 2) the complainants’ being completely unaware of how hypocritical it is to use lewd, offensive language to complain about supposedly lewd, offensive behavior.

Among the best:

“Just wondering if a gay kiss between two fudge packers no longer falls below standards. Perhaps he can actually suck his cock next time…”

“FEEP THE FAG KSSING [sic] OFF THE NON CABLE CHANNELS. YOU NAZI.”

“His lesbian status is his own and the way in which he chooses to live his life should not be displayed as the type of entertainment for public ‘consumption’.”

“It was PORN plan [sic] and simple it was not about art its about no morals and values and shoving his HOMOSEXUALITY down our throats.”

The most legitimate-seeming complaint I read was from a gay man who expressed his concern about the appearance of chains, leashes and whips during the performance, which he worried would create a “negative portrayal of the gay community.” Judging by the other complaints, his worries sure came to fruition.

So, to the complainants calling Lambert a “fudge packer” and a “fagatoni”: I’m just as disgusted by your homophobia (not to mention your inability to grasp basic spelling and grammar) as you are by Adam Lambert’s AMA performance.

    GIVE ADAM A BREAK ALREADY!

I hope this complaint will be investigated by people with common sense and logic so that the final conclusion will be: Adam Lambert DID NOTHING MORE COMPARED TO WHAT OTHER ARTISTS HAD PREVOIUSLY DONE.

    ENOUGH HATE AGAINST ADAM!

Let’s focus on his many qualities, talent, music and what he did well during last year (so many things to think about). Adam is a role model for young people in many points of view.

OPEN ALL DOORS for Adam to do what he does best: to entertain us!

I don’t know what to say. I read the complaints and I feel like I stepped into the land of the brain dead. Do people think like that and talk like that? What kind of horrific people do we have in this country? I can not even form words right now I am so shocked. Adam Lambert acted out the lyrics to a song. It was an overtly sexual act. That was it – a sexual act. No violence, no lyrics filled with rape and murder. For some reason the people who wrote to the FCC spewing their vileness thought they were righteous. Even while spewing all that disgusing language they thought they were on moral ground. The lack of education and basic writing skills screams loud and clear. Those complaints should be printed off and given to students across the country. It would scare them into staying in school if they realized they could become one of those morons. The scary part is these people are so ignorant they don’t even have an inkling as to how ironic what they are saying actually is.

Wow, I guess I am not surprised since we are the belligerent society of the world.
Most of the negative comments were by folks who were either too petrified to change the channel or unable due to a curiosity they may not be able to control. I love the comment from the Yukon, OK viewer saying he had to answer questions he should not have to answer to his children. I wonder if he would rather they get their answers to such questions from their friends.

I just love it when homophobes act horrified about hollywood or the gay conspiracy or whatever shoving things down their throat. Cracks me up everytime.
