The 5 Non-News Shows Lou Dobbs Should Appear On

Lou DobbsMany people are relieved to see Lou Dobbs out at CNN. He was a xenophobe, plain and simple. Watching his irrational, lunatic rants against immigrants was embarrassing.

But Dobbs did spend about 175 years (OK, maybe it was closer to 30) at the network, giving him invaluable on-air experience. Just because he isn’t going to be spewing racist tirades anymore doesn’t mean all that should go to waste, right? So here are my suggestions for the five non-news shows Dobbs could grace his talents with.

1. “Dancing with the Stars”: This is an obvious choice. Dobbs’ fellow CNN survivor Tucker Carlson already competed on the show, but was booted off pretty quickly. Tom Delay also went on the show for some image rehabilitation, but dropped out because of injuries. Perhaps Dobbs could redeem the right wing by dancing off with the trophy.

2. “Modern Family”: I doubt Dobbs has much in the way of acting chops, but appearing as the crazy, xenophobic uncle on this sitcom about an extended family that includes a hot, Colombian mom and a gay couple wouldn’t be much of a stretch for him.

3. “Dog the Bounty Hunter”: Dobbs talks a good game about going after illegal immigrants (and by good, I mean reprehensible, of course). But he needs a guy like Dog the Bounty Hunter to actually make his dreams of rounding them up and tossing them over the concrete wall he wishes surrounded the country come true.

4. “Law and Order”: Dobbs is a big fan of being tough on crime – so him and DA Jack McCoy would make a good team. Two, old white men against the world.

5. “Ugly Betty”: After establishing himself on “Law and Order,” it would only be natural for Dobbs to jump to “Ugly Betty,” where he would try to deport the entire Suarez clan.

“Watching his irrational, lunatic rants against immigrants was embarrassing.”

Watching bloggers who continually spread misinformation that Dobbs is against immigration is embarrassing.

I would love to see him on Survivor or Big Brother. There has to be a role for him somewhere on “Glee.”

Seems like Ms. Libby relies on hate when she can not deal with the subject of illegal immigration and Mr. Dobbs on an intellectual basis and discuss real issues.

I could dream up some snotty commnets about her like she has about Dobbs. But I would not want to lower myslef into the same gutter in which she lives.
