Palin peeks at notes on her hand during Tea Party speech
I had a feeling she’d get caught doing something silly or funny. Here’s what she wrote on her left hand and peeked at during the speech (via HuffPost contributor Stefan Sirucek).

They appear to read:
Energy
Tax Cuts
Lift America’s Spirit
Profound. Here’s a video of her taking a peek at them during the Q&A part and here’s an image of it. Of course, these are the exact three things she mentioned when asked what her top three acts as president would be.
There isn’t much to say about her speech except how predictable it was. There was nothing new or relevant; it was a masterpiece in grand, meaningless platitudes and teabagger boilerplate — more evidence she has no interest in governing and is just a personality.
That said, it seemed quite hypocritical for Palin to tout the awesomeness of the Constitution while showing sheer contempt for it on issues of due process and rule of law when it comes to trying suspected terrorists. Either the Constitution takes precedence or it doesn’t; she can’t have it both ways.

I can’t see the problem with any public speaker using note cards, but- she needed notes to remember “Energy”, “Tax Cuts”, and “Lift America’s Spirits”? Maybe it’s just a tattoo.
Due process/rule of law? Correct me if I’m wrong Mr. Kapur, but whats your background to comment on this? (Ie how many levels of structiny does equal protection have vs. due process. Because if you cant IMMEDIATELY answer that correct, as ANY day one law student could, you probably should research these terms better better opining on them. seriously if you dont know that, find out and find out fast, because ANY law student in the country could immediately rattle it off his/her fingertips). that said, if you wanna make blanket statements about the constitution and these very nuanced technical terms (not broad based use-how-you-please terms, as they have a strict constitutional meaning and context), you could argue Mrs. Palin doesnt have a great record of these issues. But it is a weak argument anyway since those fighting the US currently are illegal combatants, and not subject to our constitutional protections, though they are still subject to the Geneva convention. so wax eloquent about torture if you must, thats UN law, but US constitutional law is a whole different matter and debate, and a lot more controverial in its application at all.
