Here are this morning’s:

* What drugs to clubbers prefer for sex? — women use alcohol more than men — mainly to increase arousal, when they want “unusual” sex, or to prolong sex

* Behavioral addictions in the DSM-V — a change some say is long overdue — and some say is premature

* When political science and journalism collide — the political-science take on the declining trust in government doesn’t make as good a story as saying “TV did it” — “an implicit political economy in which academics or experts who conform to the script get rewarded with media coverage”

* An organ printer — currently to create samples of tissue for research — eventually for organs

* The perils of small talk — the happy life is social rather than solitary — and meaningful rather than superficial

    About Me

I'm a freelance writer and blogger based in Brooklyn, NY. My background is mostly in politics. I've worked on the editorial boards of the New York Sun and New York Post. In 2006, I wrote a book, "The Elephant in the Room: Evangelicals, Libertarians, and the Battle to Control the Republican Party" (Wiley). I've also done my share of freelancing, for places like the Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, Reason, and RealClearPolitics.

These days, I'm interested in humanity's ever-expanding understanding of its own irrationality. Hence, this blog.
