Really interesting – maybe this is in the paper, but I’d be interested to know how the popular antidepressant SSRI – selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors – affect these genes.
Because they cause your cells not to reuptake, the seratonin sits around longer, allowing your neurons to bathe in it a little more and enjoy (at least, this is what my husband, who’s a nurse, tells me). So it seems like it could help depression and tame some spending habits too.
Not that I’m advocating that debt is a disease. But maybe just a useful side effect?
