Ryan,

An interesting array of topics...let's get started.

*The evolution of God
“The Evolution of God,” Robert Wright seems to be a condescending man that doesn't believe in God and has done all of us a great service by taking his time to write this crap and somehow soothe us. First off, I am not religious by any stretch of the imagination. I read books on spirituality every now and then. But, Robert Wright no more believes in God than a rock does. He's exploiting other people's deeply held beliefs and he doesn't even believe. What a jerk. I at least am not a hypocrite. He rubbed me the wrong way.

*Cool search engines that aren't Google
I tried Good Search. (It was the penny to charity.) I would have tried more, but over an hour passed as I caught up on both Serena and Venus's semi-final wins at Wimbledon. Serena's match was the longest semi-final in over 40 years and while the crowd was taking a break her sister put away my least favorite tennis player, current No. 1 Safina in 51 minutes 6/1 6/0. What an embarrassment? The computerized ranking system needs some work. Serena has 10 Grand Slam titles and Venus has seven. Safina has zero. They said Safina didn't vary her shots, her only game plan was to hit the ball hard and she kept hitting it harder and the most unbelievable part was that Venus only had one unforced error. That is incredible! I love tennis and tomorrow are the men's semi-finals. I have been balancing commenting here and watching tennis.

*Painting with your brain
David DiSalvo is back! Well, I guess he was where he always was. What promise and what a great guy.

*The Neuro Times
Putnam and Merritt might be a good read for me. If the review is any indication, I'll add it to my list. I have taken forever to read The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle as I just had too much negative shit going on to delve into the spiritual. I used to take Phenobarbital for tremors of unknown etiology. After MRI's on all three parts of my spine and my brain they just gave me a rather high dose of Diazepam. The tremors have been gone for years. But, I was never completely able to get off of Diazepam. I tried cold-turkey (not recommended) and did not sleep for two months. Maybe it's time to do it the right way?

*Video games make you smarter
Makes perfect sense and doesn't surprise me at all. Unfortunately the ones that may have some negative effects are the ones I play the most. Just coincidence...I kinda like the violence.
