Comment of the Day

Just because someone is a public figure, does not make their sex life my business. There always seems to be a need to get caught. You know as well as I do that only a fraction of those committing adultery in politics have or will get caught.

Sometimes, if an illegal act has taken place as well, then it is at least law enforcement’s business. And, depending how you serve, you may be subjected to an ethics review. But, I’m firm. I really don’t want to know. I know deep down inside it is none of my business no matter how reckless they are. Plus who wants to picture it?

You can’t stop people from having sex with other people if they choose, so why try? Just because some of the “scandals” have been men with men may make it more salacious, but it’s still not my business.

    About Me

I'm a freelance writer and blogger based in Brooklyn, NY. My background is mostly in politics. I've worked on the editorial boards of the New York Sun and New York Post. In 2006, I wrote a book, "The Elephant in the Room: Evangelicals, Libertarians, and the Battle to Control the Republican Party" (Wiley). I've also done my share of freelancing, for places like the Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, Reason, and RealClearPolitics.

These days, I'm interested in humanity's ever-expanding understanding of its own irrationality. Hence, this blog.
