Gone Drivin’

tumbleweed

It’s been a great week, and a great couple of months, here at Neuroworld. We’ve had probably our best five-day traffic yet. We’ve passed 300 posts in the short time this blog has existed. We’ve passed 500 comments (thanks to all our committed readers and commenters!). And we’ve adopted the word “we” despite the fact that it’s just me… for no reason at all.

I’m going to be out for the next 10 days driving around the American West with the lovely wife. I might check in from time-to-time, but I’ll be leaving you in the hands of just an awesome guest blogger: David DiSalvo, author of one of my favorite neuro blogs, Neuronarrative.

When you’re not reading Neuroworld (and refreshing again and again to boost True/Slant’s pageviews), you ought to be reading Neuronarrative, which does a fantastic job of making neuroscience understandable and entertaining — and which runs a lot of great interviews with leading scientists. If you’ve ever clicked on items from the Neuro News Nanos, you’ve probably ended up at David’s blog.

So, welcome (and thanks) to David. Make him feel at home.

Shame you didn’t get that new iPhone and we could see video from the road. Wanna borrow my Blackberry?

    Have a great trip Ryan.

And btw speaking of refreshing pages when the hell are the powers that be around going enable subscribing to threads by email? Hey folks this is a no brainer, you’ve been an up and running for 6 months now.

I agree Brian. It would be much more of a communal feel. How about a way to mark updates read on the little update counter. Through the course of a day, I read the beginning of the same article 3 times, because I couldn’t remember that I already read it. I realize this is a newish site, but it is not that new. This is so 2003 people.

Glitches? I have no clue what you are talking about Brian. I have seen the changing the ribbon message once, but I guess I don’t use it as much as you. To give some positive feedback, I’m pleased at how well things load up, and how well the site plays with Google Chrome.

    About Me

I'm a freelance writer and blogger based in Brooklyn, NY. My background is mostly in politics. I've worked on the editorial boards of the New York Sun and New York Post. In 2006, I wrote a book, "The Elephant in the Room: Evangelicals, Libertarians, and the Battle to Control the Republican Party" (Wiley). I've also done my share of freelancing, for places like the Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, Reason, and RealClearPolitics.

These days, I'm interested in humanity's ever-expanding understanding of its own irrationality. Hence, this blog.
