		<description>Yes but is the origin of that terrorism internal or external? And even (here in the US)the internal originating terrorism tends to come from people who identify themselves with a very rigid ideology, usually right wing and usually  religion based.</description>

		<description>Well, not entirely. A study cited in the one I linked found that open societies are more vulnerable to terrorism -- since they allow for free movement and free speech, which the terrorists use for their own purposes.

It&#039;s obviously not a reason to NOT have an open society, but there are various forces at play.</description>
