* Arm in a cast? — the cast can make it less sensitive to touch and lower activity in the brain related to it — the non-cast hand becomes more sensitive
* An “anti-placebo” effect is discovered in insomnia — telling subjects they were getting an “upper” made them sleep better — a “downer” worse
* Faked evidence of gay conversion — who would have thought? — it’s like homosexuality isn’t a choice, or something
* Can computers decipher ancient scripts? — well, not yet — but they can help us determine whether those scripts have the characteristics of language or symbol
