Things You May Have Missed…

Welcome, readers, to this now-open site. We’ve been blogging behind a wall for most of March. So, for the next week, I’m going to offer up the highlights (er… I hope they’re highlights — they’re things you may have missed, either way) from the last month. So, here are today’s:

* A Tourist In Neuroworld: In which I lay out something of a mission statement for this blog.

* Too Pretty for Politics: What Sarah Palin apparently is.

* Our Monkey Brains: Status Update: How our use of social networks like Facebook is limited by our cognitive capacities.

* Doodle Your Way to Better Concentration: Doodling can improve recall.

* Brainstorming Drools. Brainwriting Rules.: A look at a popular productivity technique and an alternative that experiments say works much better.

And, of course, it’s easy enough to explore the archives on your own just by using the See Older Posts navigation at the bottom of this page.

    About Me

I'm a freelance writer and blogger based in Brooklyn, NY. My background is mostly in politics. I've worked on the editorial boards of the New York Sun and New York Post. In 2006, I wrote a book, "The Elephant in the Room: Evangelicals, Libertarians, and the Battle to Control the Republican Party" (Wiley). I've also done my share of freelancing, for places like the Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, Reason, and RealClearPolitics.

These days, I'm interested in humanity's ever-expanding understanding of its own irrationality. Hence, this blog.
