Neuro News Nanos
Here are today’s:
* Visual and verbal learners really do process information differently — at least that’s what some new fMRI research indicates — visual learners activated the visual cortex when presented with words — verbal learners activated areas associated with phonological cognition when presented with pictures
* Do women make decisions differently than men? — not as differently as we might think, but we’re likely to keep uncovering subtle differences — one difference: women are more concerned with parsing social interactions
* Anxious parents make anxious children — and anxious children are annoying (okay, that’s not in the study)
* Brain activity can predict people’s choices — even when they rate the options similarly
* Dreams really can come true — or, at least, when people remember at least one dream (out of thousands) that has come true, they interpret that as meaning that dreams come true — in other words, people are idiots
