Analysis: 49-0 vote on Olympics funding “deceiving”, Aldermen rise to hind legs

In such events as the 100-meter Rollover and the Relay TIF Pants-Drop, Chicago’s Aldermen have in the past proven themselves as friendly to business as Mayor Daley.

Yet, on the subject of the 2016 Olympic games, more than politics as usual is underway.  Sun-Times scribe Fran Spielman reports the City Council has for once laid down its rubber stamp and picked up a flashlight.  A list of unprecedented 2016 Olympics oversight concessions earned from the embattled Daley administration includes the unprecedented installation of two representatives from the City Council on the Olympic Organizing Committee, getting reports on all contracting.
