My last True/Slant post
I guess it is now my turn.
The time has come for me to say a temporary ‘so long’ to the readers who have made my time here at True/Slant so enjoyable.
For me, the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. The interaction with the editorial staff has been superb and I want to publicly thank Lewis Dvorkin, Coates Bateman and Michael Roston (who has tolerated my tendency to engage in perfectly awful spelling with far more patience than I deserved) for the opportunity.
I also want to thank all the readers, so many of whom have come to feel like friends over the time we have communicated with one another. I very much hope to see each of you at my next destination for continued discussion, disagreement and all the other interactions that make blogging so much fun.
With regards to that next destination, I am barred from making any announcements regarding the future due to ongoing contract negotiations. However, let me just say that I look forward to joining my new home sometime around the first of September and hope to be reunited with some good friends that I have made here at True/Slant.
Again, it’s been awesome and I hope to reconnect with you all in September.

Hey Rick,
Best of luck in your future endeavors.
We’ll hunt you down like the dog that you are (wherever you end up)!
I have really enjoyed True/Slant, and you are my favorite writer. Best of luck! Viva Elizabeth Warren!
Thanks for that! I won’t be gone long.

Farewell, but not goodbye Rick. To anyone who wanted to know what was really happening in the health care reform debate, you made yourself into an essential read, spelling errors or no. I eagerly await your next venture.
I’ll look for you, Rick. You’ve been so informative about the health-care issue. Love your passion [when you let it show], too. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here with you gone. Best best best of luck to you. Don’t stop writing and opining, ever — Rocky
Are you replacing Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios because of how he handled Ed Norton’s contract negotiations?
Ha! Kevin is doing just fine and I don’t think he mishandled Ed Norton at all. There is always much more than what meets the eye….or the press.

Good Luck and Good Health.

I hope to find your new place in September.
Rick, I told you once upon a time that the mistake with the Brit chieftain of BP USA was that he was a Brit and talked like a Brit. Now they are replacing him with an American, with a flat Nebraska accent, perfect diction, and very educated, tv-announcer, fluent American English.
Please leave some digital breadcrumbs so I can find you, I would very much like to read you again.
Great image. Google could find bread crumbs on the ocean surface.

True Slant seems to be going downhill fast, and will definitely not be the same without you. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.
See you on the flip side, Rick.
See ya down the road.
You too brightened some dull days Libtree09, hope you keep the handle

Thanks Rick for all your great work! I look forward to your book and finding you elsewhere. Is there a list or something I can get on to get updates? Good Luck with everything.
Rick, Look forward to reading you wherever you may be, and good to know you as a fellow contrib. All best, vick
Rick,
Thanks for all the informative articles and thought-provoking commentaries you have provided us with on a variety of interesting topics.
Looking forward to reading your articles when you arrive at your next destination.
Rick, today the loss of your view point is keenly felt. The ruling in the Prop 8 case is so right up your alley. I deeply wish you had the ability to post just one more column on it. Judge Walker wrote an impressive judgment, IMHO, and I would really like to hear your reaction.
You ARE, not will be, missed.
It’s making me crazy! But, it shouldn’t be much longer that I’ll be stuck on the sidelines.
In response to another comment. See in context »By the way, I thought the Judge’s decision was extremely well stated but, as you know, this has a long, long way to go.
Thanks for the note Stephen.
you were among my favorite contributors. your topics fed my art.
