Who is today’s mystery hypocrite?
It’s time to play, ‘name that hypocrite’, a little game we like to play in the effort to reward this week’s politician willing to say anything, at anytime, to garner the attention and approval of his or her political base.
If you’re ready, here’s your first clue.
In 2006, today’s winning hypocrite had this to say about the trial of terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui, the convicted 9-11 co-conspirator whose trial was held in a federal district court in Alexandria, Virginia –
I was very disappointed. I thought the death penalty was the appropriate conclusion. At the same time, I was in awe of our system. It does demonstrate that we can give people a fair trial, that we are exactly what we say we are. We are a nation of law. . . . I think he’s going to be a symbol of American justice.

Given the vehemence of the reaction from the right over the Justice Department decision to try KSM along with four others allegedly responsible for the 9-11 attacks in a New York courtroom, such a quote could only have come from one of those lily-livered liberals who just doesn’t get it.
So who was it? Barack Obama who was, at the time, a naïve Senator from Illinois? Maybe that progessive pin-up girl, Nancy Pelosi? Or were these words uttered by Keith Olbermann during yet another of his liberal diatribes?
The answer is, none of the above.
Hold onto your NRA memberships, boys and girls, because the above quote comes from none other than ‘America’s Mayor’ and failed GOP candidate for president, Rudolf “Rudy” Giuliani.
While Giuliani, just a few short years ago, agreed with this writer that putting terrorists on trial in an American court shows the world what we are all about, it seems that was then, this is now and Rudy would very much appreciate it if we would give him a ‘do over’ on this one.
Check out HIzzoner’s appearance on Fox News earlier this week:
Nothing like playing politics with the most basic of America’s fundamental principals.
Congratulations, Rudy! You are our hypocrite of the week!
Now get out there and plant some of that lipstick you like to wear on those conservative butts. Who knows? Maybe those New York tea baggers will let you mess up a run to become their Governor!

Am I supposed to be surprised? He’s a politician, BS-ing is his vernacular.
Utzie, if God cursed you with prostate cancer and then impotence for marrying your cousin, you’d seek power wherever you could, too.
