This is a most unfortunate description of what actually happened with Marion Cotillard. A CANAL "Evening Out" documentary followed the French actress, unknown in the US, in a February 2007 telecast. She boxed with the French middleweight champion, made soup in a restaurant, had wine with Olivier Dahan and Ginou (Piaf's longtime friend), and so on. She also ruminated, while taking the crew through the underground catacombs below Paris, about various documentaries she had seen on European TV. They included films questioning both the official 9/11 story and the moonwalk (these have also been shown on US TV). Thus, her remarks had been available for ONE YEAR before she came to LA and won an Oscar (you didn't point this out). She never said anything about Bush, Cheney, or the US government. Those who write this kind of stuff do not speak or read Parisian French, nor have they seen the video for themselves (or they would have raised the issue long before Cotillard became internationally famous). In the last two years, her work has been so consistently outstanding that she is now seen as one of the greatest talents of her time. So please, check your facts next time and stop defaming a remarkable artist for stuff she didn't say. Her two remarks which are accurate are "I don't believe everything I'm told" and "I think we are lied to about important matters." That's remarkably American.

What about the tower in Bejing that burned for 3 days? It is still standing. If people think that 19 guys living in caves actually came over by themselves and got through the best defense net in the world by themselves without explicit help, well, I have some beach-view property to sell you...

I don't think anyone is questioning her right to free speech...just her right to a Vogue cover....and a platform for her conspiracy theories.

Do we still value the 1st amendment, or not?

If we do, then people are allowed to spout off whatever crazy conspiracy theory they wish.

Her "crazy claim" is true. It was the Windsor Tower in Spain, which burned for around 24 hours, at temperatures higher than those in the WTC buildings. The Windsor Twwer however had a concrete core, unlike the WTC buildings, so the comparison doesn't hold up well.

A better comparison would be to the The Parque Central building fire in Caracas, Venezuela. It's steel frame construction was much closer to that of the WTC towers. That fire burned at 17 hours, also at temperatures higher than those reached in the WTC fires, but did not collapse.
