Marines Capture Three Districts in Helmand

As Americans at home watch baseball and eat BBQ today, the Marines are hard at work.

Radio Killid has just reported that Marines in Helmand have overwhelmed insurgents in the Garmsir, Khanashin and Nawa districts of Helmand Province.

“They have cleansed these districts of Taliban,” reported Killid.

No separate confirmation on this yet, but I’ll keep my ear to the ground and let you know what I hear.

  1. collapse expand

I noticed they didn’t claim “all” Taliban insurgents were “cleared.” I wonder how much real info we will get on this war, compared to the last administration.

Always difficult to discern truth from fabrication . . . Good luck with that and be safe.

  2. collapse expand

The Taliban could be right under their noses. Do we have the forces to hold the area and a real plan to win local support?
