I'm the guy who could handle standardized tests easily, but refused to get motivated about actual class work. Now, fast forward ten years, and I become the guy who becomes the college student. History is not just my major, its my passion, not for the dates and the facts one is supposed to memorize, but for the stories, the explanations, and the interpretations. Listening to a bad history teacher can be hell on earth. Listening to a great one is like what I would imagine listening to Homer would have been like. And I'm a sucker for a great story.

What I'm Currently Addicted To...
Tie between Stumbleupon and coffee. Both keep me up, but only one lets me be productive.
This Is Annoying Me...
Ha, this is funny! If you ask my wife, she would wonder what doesn't. I guess the biggest is hearing the words "government run" and "Obama-care" on a daily basis. Neither are honest, and both make me want to punch things in the face after the 800th time I hear them.
This Is Making Me Worry...
Joe Lieberman. One man should not be able to even threaten to hold up democratic change. That it is possible should raise all sorts of specters. The opportunity for corruption in such a situation is insane.
This Is Bringing Me Joy...
It should be Modern Warfare 2, but since I decided I wanted to actually show up for some classes this semester, I out off getting it. So I take joy in my responsible choice. (I'm a liar, I fight myself everyday not to go get it)
I'm Running From...
uhh, empty? No, that's not even the song. It would have to be my past. Any minute now, those agents will bust through my door, and the chase will start all over again. Or something.
This Is Helping Me Create...
alibis. Don't ask, I've been at work all night.
This Is Making Me Think - Hard...
J.S. Mill's On Liberty. The idea that freedom means all ideas, no matter how repugnant should be allowed is a hard one to wrap my head around, even though I'm a huge believer in the 1st Amendment.
This Makes My Teeth Itch
This topic is the only thing I can think of right off hand.
Can't Do Without
Coffee is cliche, but when you work nights and go to class in the day, it is also indispensable.
Vonnegut, because I found him first, and Jordan, because he dreamed the world I've been visiting for the last 13 years.
My Most Awkward Moment
occur daily, normally when I let my opinions outrun my common sense. Its hard thinking like I do in South Louisiana.
My Secret Ambition
to bring back Battlestar Galactica and to get paid to either write or play video games. I'm a man-child, what can I say?
