About Me
A 15-year veteran of digital media, I am currently the U.S. consulting editor for The Guardian. From Nov. 2004 to Jan. 2009, I was executive editor of washingtonpost.com. Prior to that, I served in a variety of executive roles at America Online. I started my career as a sportswriter at The Washington Post in 1987, and my first digital job was in 1995, when I became sports editor of The Washington Post's first new media effort, called Interchange.
Professional
I'm Known For...
being the executive editor of washingtonpost.com for more than four years. And for, at the age of 42, still wearing a Jets jersey on Sundays.
My Current Project
I am consulting editor for The Guardian, helping it develop its U.S. web strategy.
My Greatest Achievement
Finding a wonderful woman who was willing to marry me despite a crazy schedule, typical male attention deficit issues and my utter lack of interest in anything that requires a tool box.
My Biggest Regret
None. Regrets are for people rooted in the past.
How I Pay For This Wardrobe
Have you seen my wardrobe? Let's just say I don't need to use a credit card.
Where I'd Like To Be 10 Years From Now
Looking back on this time in media, and laughing about how so many people were convinced there was not enough revenue on the Web to support good journalism.
Why True/Slant
I like the concept, not to mention all the people running it.

This Is Annoying Me...
The unwillingess of media companies to acknowledge the old world is dead, and only experimentation and innovation will allow them to flourish in the new world. And Brett Favre.
This Is Making Me Worry...
Not much. Despite the current financial struggles of the media, I believe the Web will lead us to a world where control will be distributed
I'm Running From...
nothing. I hate running.
This Is Helping Me Create...
punchlines for my future stand-up show. Which, based on these punchlines, will be very bad.
This Is Making Me Think - Hard...
I don't even understand this question. :-)
This Makes My Teeth Itch
This one either.
