Dubai To All That

Burj Dubai

I know slideshows are often regarded as the lowest form of traffic baiting, but honestly, sometimes they’re a really good way to tell a story. Case in point, the article I just did for The Big Money: Dubai To All That. The Dubai debt problem has been covered endlessly, and we’ve read plenty about some of the big projects that have put the emirate under strain, but have you seen any of these projects? Or if you have, have you seen more than one as a story image header? Probably not.

All we did is tell the story of eight Dubai investment/development projects, how much they were bought for, and in what particular fashion they are currently languishing. It’s a small part of the picture on how Dubai got itself $60 billion in the hole, one grandiose vision at a time.

So check out the story of the investments that sunk Dubai’s ship. The Queen Elizabeth II? Six Flags Dubai? A Scottish Golf Course? A UK hotel chain built out of shipping containers? Dubai To All That, someone snarky might write.
