Has social media ever wronged you?

I recently wrote about the power of Yelp for The Big Money. And as with nearly every article written about the online review site, anonymice came out of the dark shadows of the Internet to tell me that Yelp had done them wrong. For various reasons, I found them hard to believe. So, I issued a challenge, that I’m repeating here: tell me your Yelp stories of wrong, and I’ll do my best to track down and verify what went wrong. It’s rare to get investigative reporting on demand, so don’t pass this up! Think hard about whether you or anyone you know has griped about the service– and then send them this blog post. The results will be published in a few weeks.

Go here to tell me your Yelp story: Been Burned by Yelp? Tell Your Story. | The Big Money.

Thanks for your help– I can’t wait to see how this works out.

I just signed up for Yelp for the express purpose of bitching about a really bad haircut I got in Fort Lee, N.J. Anyone can get or give a bad haircut, sure. What irked me is that this salon charged through the nose for the privilege, and in general enjoys a hoity toity reputation in the community.

But I didn’t know Yelp had detractors! I’m going to follow your comments closely…
