I'm surprised that a so-called pilot would so easily blame another pilot. What about those who "train" these folks? Did you know that the pilots of this flight had never experienced the stick shaker or yolk pusher on this aircraft in their training? So the manufacturers make aircraft with good safety features such as the stick shaker and yolk pusher and then we don't require the pilots to experience them in training - either live or in a simulator! And the results are obvious - as the NTSB reports - the reaction was "startle and confustion." Yes, we pilots are trained since the beginning on how to respond - but experiencing it first hand is also clearly needed. The vast majority of pilot training is learning to overcome your natural instincts, but this can only truly happen if you practice it live or in a simulator, not just in theory.

So that's how the pros write. Nice job. Did you know that Indian call centers train their people in American dialects now? So that Microsoft Tech Support professional with a Southern Accent may in fact be born and raised in Chennai. I've learned that there's lots of cost-cutting sleight-of-hand going on behind Corporate brands. And the level of dexterity gets shakier down the line.

The next time I fly, I'm flying Amtrak.
