When Vice Presidents Lie
Luckily, Karl Rove is on the case. Because there’s nobody in a better position than Rove to claim the high ground when it comes to a zero-tolerance policy for vice-presidential dishonesty and exaggeration.
“He’s a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind I would say he’s a liar, but it’s a habit he ought to drop,” Rove said on FOX News. “You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the vice president of the United States.”
Alas, Rove’s comments–as reported by Politico–were about the current vice president, who had the temerity to dis Rove’s man-crush, George W. Bush. I’d hate to see how angry this noble watchdog of vice-presidential integrity would have gotten had Biden, like, lied about the evidence for launching a war, or then falsely claimed that said war was about to end.
