Why the U.S. Army doesn’t use the Xbox

Like some twitching testosterone teenage gamer, the U.S. Army loves video games. They’re a cheap way to train young soldiers (who are basically teenage gamers anyway). But why doesn’t the Army doesn’t use console games like the Xbox?

The Army says that Microsoft won’t sell the Xbox because it won’t make enough money selling consoles to the military. Find out more in my piece on Wired’s Danger Room.

    About Me

I'm a writer in the not-so-sunny Northwest. My work has appeared in USA Today, the Washington Post, Wired.com, the Philadelphia Inquirer, National Defense and the Military Times magazines.

I like to blog about national security and foreign affairs, though I'll write about any topic on which I have a strong opinion (which is most anything). I'm a bit of a contrarian, which drives people crazy. That's a good thing.
