Rogers Park family faces eviction court tomorrow
Carol Vialdores is preparing for the fight of her life.
Tomorrow, she and her laywers will try to prove in court that she and her three kids deserve to stay in their home in Rogers Park and not be evicted by the management company, Northpoint.
On Monday, Carol and community members delivered hundreds of signed petitions to the Illinois office of the Department of Housing and Urban development, asking that her eviction be stopped.
But no one at HUD would commit to interceding on Carol’s behalf. So tomorrow, she’ll face a jury who will decide her family’s fate.
“I’m fighting because I really think this is something worth fighting for,” says Carol. “It’s hard to know that you and your children are going to be in the street.”
