Mike has for a long time had a problem with Larry David via Seinfeld. He has said it has self-hating Jewish humor. With the exception of some of the gross content, I always thought it was funny, but then I'm not Jewish.
After hearing a decade and a half of Savage complaining about being spoiled by his mother, and abused by his father (aka hard work cleaning patina off his dad's antiques as a youth), I often wondered if the dynamic between George and his parents didn't somehow hit a nerve.
A scene from "The Fire" epsidode comes to mind:

"We see a flashback of George at seven, sitting in front of a birthday cake with a shocked expression on his face, while Frank and Estelle scream at him:

FRANK: Blow out the candles! Blow out the candles, I said! Blow out the damn candles!

ESTELLE: Stop it, Frank! You're killing him!"

How I would love to see the a film of some of those same kind of moments
Michael himself has described, such as sitting down to many a Ma Savage provided Steak, French Fry and Ice Cream dinner in front of the TV only to have his father come home and tell his mother he's spoiling (killing?) him!

I haven't seen what set Michael off on Mr. David this time, but considering some of the other TV garbage he complains about, yet continues to watch, like The Sopranos on HBO, I wouldn't put much stock in his most recent tirade.

If Mike was really worried about filth, he wouldn't have often bragged on attending Hollywood Star parties at his own son Russell's multi-million dollar Rock Star Mansion then described the young women attendees like they were at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion.
