Does your AT&T experience suck? There’s an app for that

Are you having issues with your AT&T service almost everywhere you go? Suffering from dropped calls? Data connection not working even when you have a full signal? Text messages not going through? Voicemails never received? Is it getting to the point where you just want to smash your iPhone against a wall? Those are rhetorical questions. The answers are yes, and of course you do. Well, thankfully there is now an app for all that. It’s not going to fix your issues or solve your problems right away, but it might help you feel a little better knowing that you can bitch to AT&T about it. AT&T Mark the Spot is a new iPhone app that lets users give feedback to AT&T, presumably so the carrier will actually do something about it. Only time will tell if this app proves to be useful and whether AT&T’s network starts to improve. For now, it serves as a pacifier for those who are otherwise tempted to call customer care to whine about crappy service.

One question: If your network reception doesn’t work, and you can’t get a signal, how are you supposed to report your problem to AT&T?

  1. collapse expand

Excellent. As you note, the two most interesting developments will be 1) if people will report the problems (especially in the midst of them) and 2) if, how and how quickly AT&T NetOps will act on the complaints they receive.

It’s encouraging they’re “putting themselves out there” like this.
