David Letterman extortion plot: Keep it in your Worldwide Pants
On tonight’s “Late Show,” David Letterman ‘fessed up that he’s the victim of an extortion attempt.
The 62-year-old funnyman said he received a package three weeks ago from a person who claimed to have information about Letterman’s sexual dalliances, ultimately demanding $2 million to prevent public revelation.
Letterman said he went to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which conducted an investigation, and an arrest was made earlier Thursday.

And you’d think after the foiled plot to kidnap your son four years ago, the sad story of your stalker and the way the Connecticut State Police used to lay in wait to pull you over, you’d be a little more in tune with the idea that you’re a target. But hey, wait to get out in front of the story.

Revelation came on what should have been a day of celebration for Letterman, as ratings from week one of the new TV season gave the host his first outright latenight victory in four years.
