    I don’t see the point. Anything that folds will have mechanical leverage. Combine that with a small surface area, or squared corners, and you get very dull scissors. Rounding the corners and making a gap might work at the expense of stability and design aesthetics.

    I shut my then-2-year-old’s daughter in the car door once, but the door was sufficiently misaligned not to cause more than a slight scrape. 7 years later, she still remembers it and brings it up at interesting times.
