P.S. 22 kicks ‘Glee’ butt any day
Love “Glee” but hate the lip-synching? Spend your lunch hour listening to P.S. 22, the New York City elementary school where kids belt their hearts out. (Here’s a link to a bunch.)
No choreography, no pitch correction, no reverb. I’ve watched it maybe a dozen times and it still gives me chills like nobody’s bidness. Makes me wanna move to the Bronx.
Here are the kids rocking Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” way better than the knock-off version on the Fox drama.

What do these children know of wine and cheap perfume?
Let it go, Roston. Just watch those darling little faces and tell me they know not the meaning of soul.

Bravo Lisa, for finding that one. I’m from the Bronx myself. Those kids are where it’s at. Thanks.
That Journey song always unearths memories of grade school roller skating parties. M’s “Pop Musik,” too.
I don’t mind the prerecorded Glee songs. What should they do, sing along to one piano every time?
How about once in a while?
