13 Attorneys General join Orly Taitz in suing over legality of health care reform
Faster than a speeding trial lawyer, i.e. 7 minutes after President Obama signed it into law, Republican Florida Attorney General Bil McCollum announced that he was leading 11 additional Alberto Gonzaleses and one Zell Miller to sue the federal government over the legality of the health care reform bill’s mandate:
Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum is taking the lead and is joined by attorneys general from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Utah, Pennsylvania, Alabama, South Dakota, Idaho, Washington, Colorado and Louisiana. All are Republicans except James “Buddy” Caldwell of Louisiana, a Democrat.
I was going to try and write a smart blog post weighing the arguments about why the bill may or may not in fact be constitutional. But then by happenstance, I discovered the following blog post from Monday written by one Dr. Orly Taitz, ESQ, also known as the ‘birther queen.’:
My first amended complaint including the cause of action adjudicating Healthcare bill null and void was entered on the docket by the clerk of the court today
That’s right! These politics-via-the-courtroom prosecutors were beat to the punch by Orly Taitz, Esq., DDS!
I’ll let you read the rest here if you want to.
As they say, consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. If 13 of our nation’s chief law enforcement authors want to go on a quest that would make Don Quixote blush along with the woman who thinks that Sarah Palin supports her cause of proving that President Obama is a foreign-born usurper because they are friends on Facebook, then please, go right ahead. Maybe like Taitz is under investigation that could lead to her disbarment, some of the state legislatures in those 13 states will come to their senses and realize that suing the federal government over a law that’s literally just been signed is the kind of impeachable malfeasance of duty that I’ve previously argued it is. And then like Taitz, Bill McCollum and his prosecution-for-political-sport comrades can all get together and allege that they’re heroes of national liberation like Nelson Mandela. It’ll be an awesome scene.
In fact, if Eric Holder has a sense of humor, he could agree to have Taitz’s case joined with the suits filed by the attorneys general. What say you General Holder?
