Report: Eric Massa groped male staffers; Glenn Beck schedulers need some Tums

Hours ago, Charles Johnson noted, Michelle Malkin took to Glenn Beck’s radio show to warn him off on giving him Eric Massa a full hour to tell his story about corruption in the Democratic Party on his Fox News show tonight.

Beck seriously compared now former Rep. Massa to a Soviet defector during the Cold War and called him a whistleblower whose story needed to be heard.

Looks like the real whistleblowers were actually going to the Democratic leadership and the House Ethics Committee in this case, and that Beck should have listened to Malkin – the Washington Post is reporting, with two hours to go before the show airs, that Massa allegedly groped male staffers:

Former Rep. Eric Massa has been under investigation for allegations that he groped multiple male staffers working in his office, according to three sources familiar with the probe.

The allegations surrounding the New York Democrat date back at least a year, and involve “a pattern of behavior and physical harassment,” according to one source. The new claims of alleged groping contradict statements by Massa, who resigned his office on Monday after it became public that he was the subject of a House ethics committee investigation for possible harassment.

If I worked for Glenn Beck right now, I’d probably want to quit. On the Fox News website, the show is promo-ing Massa with the teaser, “Is Eric Massa part of the problem or part of the solution?” I can’t wait to hear how allegedly groping male staff and voting no because ObamaCare is not single-payer health care reform will ’solve’ any problems conservatives have with the Democratic majority.

If he really goes ahead and gives this guy a full hour to tell the story he’s made up about the White House trying to force him out of Congress to make the health care reform vote easier (IT’S NOT!!!!), Fox News will basically be demonstrating that it will literally put anything on the air – anything. Democrats will be able to hang Massa around the GOP’s neck like the heaviest albatross ever found. It will probably help flip some votes to yes on health care reform, too, because it will demonstrate how desperate Republicans are to defeat this bill that they’ll even associate themselves with an unethical ex-congressman if it helps make their case that the bill shouldn’t be passed.

And if I were a Democratic media strategist, I’d probably be lighting a cigar right about now. With two hours before Beck’s show goes on the air this evening, the nut-jock is sitting there with his staffers in panic, trying to decide whether or not they need to scrap their whole show and throw together a new one out of whole cloth. A well-timed and orchestrated act of information warfare.

Update: Glenn Beck tells viewers that the preceding hour of television was a waste of time. This is probably the best break the Democrats have gotten all year.
