Free the Music: ARMS – EP

Free the Music is a guide to new albums, EPs and songs that are available for free online. Today’s drop is: ARMS - EP.

When ARMS, aka Todd Goldstein, dropped last year’s Kids Aflame, it got a solid amount of press for an act that was the part-time gig of The Harlem Shakes‘ guitarist. But, once the Shakes broke up last fall, Goldstein made ARMS his main focus, adding a couple of musicians to what was once a solo gig.

So what did the press have to say? It was pretty positive across the board, but the theme that bubbled up in each review was the comparison to The Harlem Shakes. Or, rather, how little the two sounded.

Well, this morning Goldstein dropped EP, a new, free EP by ARMS, and it’s sure to make fans of the Shakes happy. EP’s”Heat & Hot Water” redistributes the upbeat, dance-infused pop sound that made The Harlem Shakes’ Technicolor Health such an enjoyable album. Still, EP retains ARMS their spirit and sound throughout the album, but it reflects the acts’ evolution from solo side-project to full-on trio. May the rest of their future material sound this good.

You can download EP from Filedropper, Sendspace and drop.io. It’s 100 percent free and legal, uploaded from the man behind ARMS, Todd Goldstein.
