LeBron James: NFL Wide Receiver?
If I put all my time and commitment into it, if I dedicated myself to the game of American football, I could be really good,” the Cleveland Cavaliers guard said on Tuesday. “No matter what team I was on.
Seriously, though. James is listed at 6-8, 250 pounds, but add at least an inch and 30 pounds to that. The man-child has wheels too — witness his flying up the court in just three or four strides.
What corner could guard this guy? What safety could outmuscle him? What linebacker could keep up with James?
There’s no possibility he’ll ever put on pads. Among other considerations, endorsements, money, and his quest to become the greatest basketball player ever sort of get in the way.
But don’t say he’d be afraid of being hit: he’d outweigh any player in the secondary by 50 lbs. He’d hurt them. It’d be a worse mismatch than a pack of wolves versus a moose.
After watching that, if I’m the Browns practicing (and practicing and practicing), I’m sending my finest envoy to King James’ court. ASAP.
